Water Rebozo
A restaurative practice
calling for belonging
In today’s fast-paced, highly stimulating world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, making it difficult to process experiences and truly rest.
Through our work as water therapists and doulas, we’ve found that aquatic bodywork offers a direct and effective way to release tension and restore balance.
Water creates a sense of safety, allowing the body to relax and stories held within it to gently unfold.
The use of fabric in water helps define a comforting space—supporting the body, focusing energy, and enhancing a sense of containment.
This experience can evoke deep sensory memories of being held, offering a timeless, meditative state of relaxation, revisit sensations or create a new vocabulary.
Inspired by the traditional midwifery practices of the rebozo, we honour ancestral knowledge of holding, wrapping, and supporting the body in its healing process.
By integrating fabric work in water, we expand these traditions into an immersive practice that nurtures both individual and shared experiences.
